Cinnamon oats

Hey my loves!

Winter is on its way here in New Zealand and once again I’m eating oats to warm up in the morning. Oats are an amazing start to the day, packed with energy and are so versatile. There are so many methods of cooking oats or not even cooking them at all! (microwave, stove top or overnight) and also so many ways to make them taste oh so yum! So I’m going to share with you one of my all time favourite oat recipes so you can try it for yourself if you’re stuck for inspiration ♥

Super simple Cinnamon oats:

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup of Oats (I use steel cut)
  • 1/2 cup of any Plant or nut milk (I tend to use Almond milk)
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Protein powder (optional) If you need a good vegan protein try Women’s Best
  • Top with anything you like! For mine this morning I used Blackberries, pumpkin seeds, Loving earth’s caramelised buckini clusters, coconut chips, agave syrup and Pics smooth peanut butter.

To Make:

Microwave method:

  • Microwave all the ingredients for 2-3 minutes stirring occasionally and checking that it’s cooking.
  • If it’s gone dry simply add more of the plant/nut milk and put the bowl back in the microwave to cook for longer.
  • Top with topping of your choice!

Stove-top method:

  • Simmer all the ingredients until the liquid has been absorbed or until it is the consistency that you want.
  • Top with topping of your choice!

As always please let me know if you enjoy this recipe and also comment what else you’d like to see!
